Chloe Lee '26

I love traveling, and through the school's program, I went on a GlobalWorks service trip to Ecuador for a week.

Tell us a little bit about your family and hometown.

I come from a very international background. While my mother is from Taiwan and my father is from Malaysia, I was born in America. However, my hometown is in Malaysia, and I often go back during winter and summer. Growing up, I was raised in both Malaysia and America. Life in Malaysia was quite different, as my entire family was there.

What is the best thing about living on campus?

I love the independence I've gained by living on this campus. Boarding has really strengthened my independence and prepared me for college. Along the way, I've met many long-lasting friends and faced various challenges, all of which the campus helped me overcome and prepare for. I enjoy learning about new cultures and gathering with residents who are also new to boarding, as we conquer that feeling together. It's the sense of community that truly keeps me here.

What aspects of the residential life program do you enjoy most?

I love going on different weekend outings offered to us and attending different holiday dinners.

What do you hope to learn by living on the Hill at school?

I hope to learn more leadership skills and strengthen my independence.

What clubs, organizations, sports, service projects, etc. are you involved in?

I'm currently a board member of the badminton club and the rock climbing club. I'm also part of the Junior board at my high school and represent the Juniors on the residential council. I love sports and have joined both softball and UDC.

What is your favorite spot on campus and why?

My favorite spot on campus would either be my dormitory room or the clubroom. I love how comfortable the rooms are here and the fact that we have roommates. I also enjoy cooking from time to time and having that sense of independence in making my own choices.

What is your career aspiration?

I'm not sure about the specifics but I'm currently aiming towards science, engineering or business.

What's your proudest accomplishment so far?

I'm so proud of myself for being able to live on my own, even when I'm far from home. I've had many moments where emotions overwhelmed me due to homesickness. However, with the support of the supervisors, I persevered through the challenges. Before attending this community, I had never been away from my parents for longer than five hours. Now, I'm apart from not only my parents but my entire family for multiple months. It never gets easier to say goodbye to them during winters and summers, but I'm proud that I never gave up, even when I had the chance to.

What three words describe you?

Outgoing, sporty, hardworking.

What's your favorite class at Flintridge Sacred Heart and why?

I love dance and chemistry. Growing up, I was a dancer and have always enjoyed the feeling of movement and releasing stress through emotions in dance. I also love applying math to science, especially in chemistry, and experimenting with different chemicals.

What do you love about Flintridge Sacred Heart?

I love all the opportunities available to students at Flintridge Sacred Heart. We are truly privileged with the resources we have here. I appreciate how the teachers always encourage us, the variety of clubs, and the chance for exchanges because we're a Round Square school.

What advice do you have for someone applying to Flintridge Sacred Heart?

Flintridge Sacred Heart is a very encouraging school with a welcoming community. If you ever need help, don't hesitate to ask because everyone here loves to help and be a guiding hand.

What do you do for fun?

On weekends, I often play sports, hang out with my friends, go on outing trips, or even make art for fun.

Anything else you want to share about yourself?

This school offers so many opportunities to explore interests and have fun. Previously, I studied at an international school in Malaysia, but we weren't a Round Square school and didn't travel often. I love traveling, and through the school's program, I went on a GlobalWorks service trip to Ecuador for a week. It was an amazing experience filled with challenges that taught me many new skills. I'm truly grateful for the supervisors who always help when a question is asked and for the memories I've made living on campus.
