Our boarding faculty don't just work at Flintridge Sacred Heart. Four of them actually live on campus! Each faculty member has their own one-bedroom apartment in the residence hall so they can supervise and support our students on the evenings and weekends. Most importantly, their presence helps create a real home-life experience. Here's just a snapshot of what you might find going on in the faculty apartments any night of the week.
A Space to Gather
Students often gather in faculty apartments for informal hang-out sessions or to study.
Faculty Share Their Skills
Our boarding faculty are a hospitable bunch, opening their homes to share their skills with students, like cross-stitching with Ms. Sam and more!
Board Games Galore
We love a board game here on the Hill, so you can often find our students gathering in faculty apartments for game night.
Boarding Hall Pets
Did you know we have a dog living in the boarding hall? Students love cuddling with Ms. Tennity's dog, Iris!
Health & Safety
Flintridge Sacred Heart takes the welfare and care of its students seriously. Our commitment to the safety of the students includes 24-hour supervision by the boarding staff, security officers and surveillance cameras.
Wellness
We have a nurse available 24/7 to students. The school nurse is on campus on school days from 7:30 a.m. until about 3:30 p.m. In the evenings, she is on-call. All residential life staff are trained to administer medications at the direction of the school nurse and are CPR/AED trained. All medications are turned into the school nurse and kept locked in her office. In addition, local hospitals are located very close to the campus.
Campus Safety & Security
Our campus safety and security team is comprised of ten team members who are dedicated to creating a safe environment for students. Our friendly team is up to any task, including driving students to sporting events or simply changing a flat tire.
Campus Safety Supervisor Steven Cronkhite, affectionately referred to "Safety Steven" by students, is seen here directing traffic on campus
Off-Campus Permission
Students are encouraged to explore all that life has to offer in Los Angeles and spend time with their local guardian families. To this end, parents approve the types of off campus travel allowed and with whom students may leave campus. All visitors must be pre-approved and announced before arrival.
It is an honor to serve Flintridge Sacred Heart, as our entire campus safety and security team takes pride knowing that we’re providing a safe learning environment for our students to be nurtured.
