Krissy Kavanaugh

Residential Life Supervisor

What’s your role in the residence hall?

This is my third year as a Residential Supervisor at Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy.  I plan outings and activities for the girls after school and on weekends.

What made you want to work at Flintridge Sacred Heart?

I was a teacher in Catholic Schools for almost 30 years and I was looking for a change after COVID.  I love this school and the students here and am excited I have the opportunity to mentor and tutor these girls.

What's your favorite spot on campus?

The Arts Building is pretty amazing but I love all things outdoors from the Senior Lawn to the view from the Octagon.

What most excites you about your work here on the Hill?

There are amazing young women here who are smart, interesting and innovative. I am encouraged for the world today to meet such motivated young people!

What are the two most important things prospective boarding students should know about life in the boarding hall?

We will love you and care for you like family.  We care about our student's physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs.  This is evident from our weekend activities like hiking, biking, kayaking and camping. We bake together, play games, and help with homework.
We have meals together,  learn life skills  and spend quiet time with our spirits. We will sit and listen to your day and celebrate your success and help you through your failures.

What is Flintridge Sacred Heart’s best kept secret?

It's not a secret but the faculty and staff are great and you get a lot of personal attention being at a small school.  We also have breathtaking views of the city, fresh air and lots of gorgeous trees.

What’s your favorite spot on campus?

My favorite spot is the senior lawn and Octagon area, especially at dawn and dusk. These are perfect spots for rest and reflection.

What do you love about the all-girls school environment at Flintridge Sacred Heart?

The sisterhood and the opportunities. All leadership positions are all held by girls.

What are you surprisingly good at?

I'm a great listener and love to help in any way I can. I bake, edit essays, change light bulbs and fix toilets.  I'm a former athletic trainer so I'm great with injuries. I'm also super organized and love to party plan and decorate for holidays.

Where can we find you when you’re not in the boarding hall?

I run at the Rose Bowl or in the neighborhood every morning. I wake up excited to be out in the sunshine.  I play pickleball often and love kayaking and bike riding at the beach.

Who has made the biggest impact on your life?

My mother was a wonderful, friendly and caring woman who I model myself after.  I would also have to say my twin daughters whose approval and respect means the most to me.
