I definitely owe my passion for scientific research to my experiences on the Hill.

Please describe an experience, class or teacher on the Hill that sparked a passion or interest that continues to this day.

I definitely owe my passion for scientific research to my experiences on the Hill. Honors Chemistry with Ms. Miller and Honors Physics with Buxman gave me the confidence to pursue such a challenging subject and taught me to enjoy the process of problem solving in science. And I don't think I would be where I am today without my time in Honors Scientific Research. Dr. Krider gave us experiences in research that many don't get, even get in college. I was able to work in an esteemed lab at The City of Hope developing research techniques and capabilities I still use today.

What is your favorite spot on campus and why?

I love senior patio. It's beautiful and I just have really fond memories of bake sales, spirit day photo shoots, chatting during breaks, and hanging out with friends. Plus the views of the mountains never get old.

What is your current career?

I have a career in scientific research and am currently a Research Lab Technician at Caltech

What's your proudest accomplishment so far?

I would say graduating from Duke with a degree in Chemistry with Distinction, which means I completed a thesis in my major. I was the only Black student in my class to do this.

What do you love about Flintridge Sacred Heart?

The community. It's why I decided to attend Flintridge Sacred Heart and the love and support among the students and faculty went even beyond what I expected. I miss it!

What do you do for fun?

Play with dogs! I work for a pit bull rescue based in LA.
